BBQ Tempeh Ribz with Homemade Coleslaw

Ingredients:

A super simple icon list element.
Rib Marinade:
1 tsp chilli flakes
½ cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic
¼ cup tomato puree
¼ cup cider vinegar
¼ cup agave
¼ cup dijon mustard
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp cumin
500g Tempeh, cut into long thick strips, a bit like a rib.
Coleslaw:
Half red cabbage shredded
2 carrots peeled and grated
A splash of cider vinegar
150g vegan mayo

It doesn't get saucier than our BBQ Tempeh Ribz with Homemade Coleslaw. The perfect whip-up for a BBQ, with our fantastic ferments.

  1. Chop the onion, grate the garlic, and place into a bowl.
  2. Add all the rest of the ingredients, and whisk all together.
  3. Cut the ribs, and place into a container and pour over the rib marinade and leave overnight for maximum flavor or 1-2hrs will do the trick too.
  4. Coleslaw: Combine all the ingredients together and mix well, season with salt and leave in the fridge until needed. This is much lighter coleslaw, not heavy with mayonnaise.
  5. Crank the BBQ up, and place the ribz on them.
  6. Give them a good char, whilst glazing them with the marinade, will take a few mins.
  7. Take them off and put them on a nice plate with a generous amount of the coleslaw on the side.
  8. Enjoy!
